Magen David Adom responds to over 800,000 calls every year, at speeds not bettered anywhere in the world, saving thousands of lives.
Every year Magen David Adom collects and supplies 300,000 units of blood, with one of the most advanced blood services in the world.
Magen David Adom serves as the Israeli Red Cross, offering humanitarian aid within Israel and abroad.
Magen David Adom’s fleet of 1,716 Ambulances, Mobile Intensive Care Units and Medicycles are stationed at 168 stations all over Israel.
When becoming a Lifesaver, your contribution will be pooled with other lifesavers’ donations. By contributing as a group, each donation will go further and make an even bigger impact towards MDA’s life-saving work. Previously, Lifesavers have successfully raised funds for new medi-cycles, an ambulance, and more recently, a lab in the newly built Marcus National Blood Services Centre, in Ramla – the world’s most secure national blood bank. Furthermore, Young MDA Patrons’ have the opportunity to see their donations when in Israel.
In recognition of your commitment, when you first join the Young Patronage Scheme, you start with a personal donation project before contributing to the group fund.

TAX RELIEF – MAKE YOUR DONATION GO FURTHER: As a UK taxpayer, through Gift Aid, the charities individuals donate to can reclaim the basic tax rate you’ve already paid on your donation for no extra cost – a £1 donation will be worth £1.25 to the charity. If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, individuals can reclaim the difference (up to an additional 25%) between the higher and basic rate tax on the value of your donation. For a 40% rate taxpayer, who is claiming Gift Aid – for every £1 you donate, you can claim back 25p in tax relief.

When it comes to saving lives in Israel, the dedication of the Magen David Adom medics, paramedics and volunteers is unparalleled. Time and time again they rush into the most dangerous of areas to treat those whose lives are at risk. Sadly, even though MDA ambulances and personnel must be protected under the Geneva Convention, it is often not the case. It is essential that we do all that we can to shield those who put their own lives at risk. We must protect our lifesavers by improving the equipment available to them and upgrading the vehicles from which they operate.
